If you’re a longtime user of iTunes, you probably are aware of the new features it offers, such as Home Sharing, Emergency SOS, 3D Touch, and Organizing your library. But did you know that iTunes has even more features? If not, read on to learn more. This article covers five such features:
Home Sharing
iTunes has long had a feature called Home Sharing. This allowed you to share a central iTunes library with multiple devices. It also allowed you to share movies, TV shows, and music on Apple TV. This feature is no longer available, however. If you’re looking to share media across multiple devices, Home Sharing is the way to go. It works with your Apple ID and supports up to five devices.
If you’re using Windows, go to Control Panel -> Network & Internet. Make sure that Internet Protocol Version 6 is checked. If it is, uncheck it. Then, restart iTunes and try Home Sharing again. If it still doesn’t work, contact Apple Support and check if the error persists. If you don’t, then follow these steps to troubleshoot Home Sharing on Windows.
Emergency SOS
If you’re worried about accidentally activating the Emergency SOS feature on your iPhone or iPad, you can disable it by holding the side buttons on your phone, such as the volume buttons. You’ll need to do this multiple times before the feature will activate. This feature will also alert emergency services of your location. Activating this feature is important, since you may be unable to tell when you need help and might accidentally activate it.
For some iPhones, the Emergency SOS screen may get stuck during an update. It might be a bug or an unsuccessful jailbreak. In either case, you can try a hard reset or restart your phone. If these methods don’t work, you should contact Apple support. You can also use the phone number provided on the Apple website to contact an Apple service center. They will be able to help you fix your iPhone’s Emergency SOS problem.
3D Touch
You may think that three-dimensional touch is the same thing as 2D touch, but these two features are actually very different. While 3D touch is a fun party trick on previous iPhone models, this feature is not available on the XR. You can long-press the camera or flashlight to turn them on or off, but you can’t use 3D touch to highlight text. Instead, you must move the cursor to highlight text, tap the keyboard or drag it across the screen.
While 2D touch is useful for accessing the menu, the new version of iOS includes a feature called Quick Actions. With 3D Touch, you can activate a submenu of useful actions. Using the Quick Action menu, you can quickly jump to a particular task. Among the Quick Action menu, you can choose to create a new sketch or download a song. You can also force-press a contact to reveal a menu.
Organizing your library
If you have a large library of songs on iTunes, you probably want to organize it. You may have a lot of songs in different genres, and you can’t keep track of them all. iTunes prompts you to edit multiple items at the same time. You can change the artist or genre of multiple problematic files in iTunes. You can also delete duplicate songs. If you don’t want to keep deleting duplicate songs, you can organize your library by using the iTunes Media folder.
One way to organize your iTunes library is to create playlists of your favorite songs and albums. This way, you can make quick searches for your favorites, and iTunes will automatically categorize your music for you. You can also create folders for your favorites, like album, artist, or genre. Another way to organize your library is to create smart playlists. You can also create playlists based on genres or artists, which will automatically play the same songs in different genres.
Searching for tracks using the lyrics
If you’ve ever wanted to listen to a song with the lyrics included, it’s now possible with Apple Music. Once you’ve installed the app on your iOS device, you can search for tracks using the lyrics. If you’re not an Apple Music subscriber, you can do a search on the iTunes web store. This will give you results based on how similar the lyrics are to the song title.
To find the lyrics of a song, just enter the song name or artist name in the lyrics field and click search. The result will display several websites that contain the lyrics. Keep in mind that these may not be accurate and most of them display advertisements or try to sell you ringtones. So, you may want to check out the sites with lyrics before you purchase them. You should also keep in mind the legality of using the tools.
iCloud Music Library
